Juvenile Salmonid and Adult Salmonid/Redd Surveys

With many years of combined experience in aquatic ecology, our team is well-equipped for a range of salmonid research from field surveys to age structure and DNA sample collection and analysis.

We meticulously track juvenile salmonid populations, assessing their growth, health, and habitat utilization. These surveys provide vital data for conservation strategies and habitat restoration efforts, ensuring young salmonids thrive in their environment.

In addition to monitoring juvenile salmonid populations, we specialize in spawning ground surveys. These surveys are pivotal in identifying and evaluating the areas used by salmonids for reproduction. We assess the quality of the spawning habitat, identify potential threats, and recommend actions to protect and enhance these critical areas. Swamp Rose also provides otolith and scale collection and analysis, salmonid carcass DNA sampling, CWT and PIT tag collection.
